Lorna had never aspired to be a chef and really wanted to be a photographer, but failed to get into photography school and ended up in the kitchen a bit by default. His favorite ingredient is the local Scottish langoustine.

Lorna’s first two weeks working for Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s marked the beginning of her culinary career. After 12 years at Andrew Fairlie’s restaurant in Gleneagles, where she became sous chef, and winning Scottish National Chef of the Year in 2017, Lorna has won the Great British Menu series in 2019. Elle a rejoint Cail Bruich en 2020 et a obtenu sa première étoile Michelin en 2021. It was the first new MICHELIN starred restaurant in Glasgow for 18 years. In 2023 it outdid itself again, winning the AA Hospitality Awards for Scottish Restaurant of the Year 2023.
